چکیده

This study investigated the adsorption of phosphate from aqueous solutions using pomegranate peel (PP) as a bio-adsorbent. For this purpose, PP was activated via saponification sodium hydroxide (NaOH) followed by cationization iron chloride (FeCl3). The iron-loaded (IL-PP) characterized zeta potential measurement, scanning electron microscopy, and Fourier transform infrared analysis. batch method to determine equilibrium time effect pH on process. full factorial design methodology used analyze effects influencing parameters their interactions. effective removal up 90% achieved within 60 min, at 9 25 °C temperature 150 mg dose IL-PP. A non-linear for modeling isotherm kinetics. results showed that kinetics is best fitted Elovich model (R2 = 0.97), which assumes dominance chemisorption mechanism, whereas obeys both Langmuir 0.98) Freundlich 0.94) models with maximum uptake 49.12 mg·g?1. Investigation thermodynamic indicated spontaneity endothermic nature These introduce IL-PP an efficient bio-adsorbent phosphate.

Removal of Basic Blue 159 from Aqueous Solution Using Banana Peel as a Low-Cost Adsorbent

In this paper, the adsorption of Basic Blue159 (BB159) onto banana peel as a low-cost material was studied. At first, the banana peel was sieved. Later, banana peel particles were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDXS) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) techniques. Batch adsorption experiments were carried out as a fu...

Synthesis, characterization and application of iron (III) - loaded duoilite C26 adsorbent for arsenic removal

Iron(III) was loaded onto the sulphonic acid sites of Duolite C26, a commercial cation-exchanger, and was then converted into hydrated ferric oxides (HFO) disbursed throughout the macropores of the ion exchanger beads. The resulting hydrated iron(III)-oxide loaded cation exchange resin (HFOLR) was tested for its ability to remove arsenate [As(V)] ions present in water by batch technology. The s...

Removal of Pb(II) from Aqueous Solution Using Fruits Peel as a Low Cost Adsorbent

Global heavy metal pollution in the environment is a serious concern. The discharge of heavy metals from various anthropogenic and technogenic sources into the aquatic system poses a threat to the health of biota. Heavy metals persist in the environment since they cannot be degraded nor destroyed and finally reach the human through food chain. The major sources of lead pollution into waste wate...
